This Saturday, 27th May 2023, our local football team, Luton Town FC, will challenge Coventry City in the Championship play-off final for a coveted place in the Premiership next season.
Whatever the outcome, it’s a remarkable achievement for the club which, after years of languishing in the National League, regained Football League status just ten years ago and has enjoyed a spectacular journey despite a severely limited budget.
The final will be at Wembley Stadium and the stakes don’t get much higher for our lads. Carrying off this promotion will reap enormous benefits not only for the club but also for the wider community.

Here at Regtransfers, we’re big fans of the Hatters, whose Kenilworth Road ground is just a few miles down the road, or guided busway, from our offices in Dunstable. And If you have ever wondered why they are called The Hatters, it refers to Luton’s historical connection with the millinery industry.
In 2018 a small contingent from our marketing team visited them and the club’s commercial director, David Hoskins, kindly showed everyone around – and kept us all safely away from the actual turf and the wrath of the groundsmen.
Local boy
Comedian Eric Morecambe, who lived just down the road from us in Harpenden, was once a director of Luton Town FC. It was a sad day when his wife, Joan, decided to sell his beloved Rolls-Royce along with the number plate, EM 100, following his death in 1984.

We naturally wish our home team all the best of luck in their quest for glory and will be cheering them on to victory.
